Sea and Mountain Tour Itinerary
A Moroccan tour like no other, your Sea and Mountain journey will both begin and end in the busy heart of Marrakech, but will take you to the blue and white Western coast of Morocco and up high into the might Atlas mountains over the course of 8 days.
Day 1: Marrakech
A simple day to get you started, we’ll pick you up at the airport in one of our Toyota Landcruiser 4x4s and bring you to your hotel for dinner and rest before your journey begins.
Day 2: Marrakesh → Essaouira
On day two your journey truly begins. We’ll pick you up from your hotel and transport you in safety and comfort to Eassaouira – the UNESCO recognised walled port city – a truly remarkable place where guests can soak up the historical significance of this magical harbour. Washed in blue and white, this fishing town has plenty for guests to explore and is now known for it’s beautiful handmade goods.
We’ll pick a place to eat based on your preferences and a comfortable hotel for the night.
Day 3: Essaouira → Agadir
After a delicious breakfast your journey begins anew as you head to Agadir – a coastal city with a surprisingly European feel. A visit to Sidi Kaouki beach is considered and absolute MUST and Taghazoute is also highly recommended.
Again, food preferences are easy to cater for here in Agadir, just tell us what you want to eat and we’ll source your dinner from our selection of tried and trusted venues. You’ll then enjoy an overnight stay in the comfort of Agadir.
Day 4: Agadir → Sidi Ifni
Travelling a similar distance as the day before, we’ll then take you out to our most Southernly desintation on this tour – laid back Sidi Ifni with it’s Spanish influences and striking buildings. We’ll take a little drive out to Tiznit too for a more traditional and cultural experience before finding something delicious to eat and drink before bed.
Day 5: Sidi Ifni → Tafraout
Day 5 sees us enter into the mountaineous section of our tour with a drive up to G’limime and Tafraout in the Anti Atlas.
This is a unique region of Morocco famed for its almond trees. Here you can find a similarly relaxing vibe as you will have done in Sidi Ifni, where you can further unwind by walking in the bouldered Amen Valley before bed.
Day 6: Tafraout → Taroudant
We’ll travel by Chtouka Ait Baha and on to Taroudante – a red-walled town that suprisingly hides amazing shopping facilities full of fine silverware. Another relaxing day of exploration.
Day 7: Taroudant → Marrakesh
Returning to Marrakech might sound like the end of your journey, but this last leg is packed with so many memorable stops you’ll be too busy and excited to think about it.
The Test Pass and the Tinml are on route, and once in Marrakech we can take you to the Menara Gardens, the Koutoubia Minaret, Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Agdal Gardens, the Gueliz district, the ancient Medina, the markets and Djemaa el Fna Square before you finally allow your head to hit the pillow.
Day 8: Marrakesh → Airport
Providing your flight departure time is viable, we’ll pick you up and drop you off at the airport to wave goodbye.
Relaxed coastal tour of Morocco
We love taking our guests to every corner of Morocco, but if you’re looking for a more relaxing experience to unwind, then our Sea and Mountain tour would be one of our first recommendations.
Travelling generally smaller distances than other tours over mostly well-surfaced roads, and visiting mainly coastal and mountain locations that benefit from sea and mountain air, this is a Morocco that is wildly different from the sands of the Sahara.
Sea and Mountain Tour FAQs
How many stops are on this tour?
This journey features just 7 major stops over an 8 day period, meaning that it is taken at a more leisurely pace than some of our other tours. There are other stop-offs along the way for rest-breaks in picturesque locations and areas of cultural significance.
It also afford our guests more time to explore their locations and become fully acquainted with them.
What food is available on this sea and mountain tour?
We recommend indulging in some of the local delicacies whenever they are safely available, as they are simply delicious, however we will always suggest where to eat and what to avoid after carefully vetting various restaurants based on their hygeine standards.
Several locations on this tour are fishing towns, and so the fresh seafood is particularly worth looking out for!
What is the accommodation like?
With Morocco Sunny Days almost everything about your tour can be customised according to your preferences and budget, including your accommodation!
In general, this tour includes stays in hotels and riads that we have stayed with before and can therefore vouch for their standards, however if you have your own wishes then please let us know.
Can we swim in the sea?
Our tour features two beaches that are popular with swimmers and surfers. Although their are cultural rules about female bathers, most of these rules are negated for tourists. We can make you aware of any rules you need to follow before travelling.
